I decided to swap out the water neck with the smog vacuum switch to an earlier one without. While I was at it, I replaced the thermostat and temperature sender.

The temp sender needs a ground in order to work, and the stock gaskets have a staple to provide ground via the block. I made my own gaskets and added some copper wire smashed flat with a hammer. Hopefully this will work. I need a new gauge voltage regulator, right now i have the classic problem of "floating" temp and gas gauges.

If my staple trick doesn’t work, I’ll tap the plug (shown on the right of the assembly) and ground to the chassis.

U20 uses a 180° thermostat.
