Fresh carbies

One last thing to take care of before firing it up - the carbs. They were in good shape but really filthy. I used carb cleaner and a tooth brush to start, following up with aluminum polish to make them presentable.

I had a real hard time trying to balance them. No matter what I did the rear carb would not pull very much air.

These are Zippy’s original carbs, the ones that came with the new engine were “smog” carbs with 1600-style floats and blunt needles.
